In der vergangenen Woche machte sich die Elite des Segelns und Surfens mit den Gegebenheiten in Marseille bekannt. Ein Jahr vor den olympischen Spielen 2024 in Paris durften die TEAM HAMBURG Athletinnen und Athleten das Terrain ihrer Events erkunden – inklusive ersten Erfolgen.

Zu dieser Zeit im nächsten Jahr beginnt bereits die Anreise für die olympischen Spiele. Die Segelteams aus dem TEAM HAMBURG möchten diese Reise ebenfalls begehen. Erste Erfahrungen mit den Voraussetzungen sammelten bereits zwei Duos. Im Mixed-470er traten Anastasiya und Malte Winkel beim Olympic Testevent an. Das Ehepaar fühlte sich sofort im französischen Süden sofort daheim und gewann Rennen drei und vier. Am Ende der einwöchigen Regatta sicherten sich die Beiden die Silbermedaille.
Marla Bergmann und Hanna Wille sammeln weiter Erfahrung in der Weltspitze. In Marseille zeigten sie konstante Leistungen und landeten am Ende auf Rang 13.
Weltmeister Sebastian Kördel trat im iQ-FOiL-Windsurfen an. Aufgrund wechselnder Verhältnisse fehlte zunächst die Konstanz. In den entscheidenden Medal-Races zeigte er aber seine ganze Klasse und sicherte sich nach zwei Siegen in Viertel- und Halbfinale am Ende den zweiten Platz. Damit nimmt Hamburgs Sportler des Jahres ebenfalls die Silbermedaille mit nach Hause.
Im Kitesurfen konnte Leonie Meyer mit der Weltspitze mithalten. Am Ende sicherte sich die TEAM HAMBURG Athletin den achten Platz.
Mit der Weltmeisterschaft im Segeln und Surfen steht das nächste Großevent bereits vor der Tür. Zwischen dem 8. und 20. August werden in Den Haag die ersten Tickets für die olympischen Spiele 2024 vergeben.
